"Giving Is Awesome" Contest

Hey everyone! I'm participating in a worldwide charity giveaway called "Giving Is Awesome". Basically professional photographers around the world are holding regional contests and donating custom photography sessions to people deserving and who would otherwise not be able to afford the session. SALT LAKE CITY 11 August 2008 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued the following statement today in response to a press conference organized by Affirmation:
“It has always been the intent of the Church to engage in an open and honest discussion with Affirmation leaders to listen to their concerns. When the Church was originally approached by Affirmation, Church officials offered a much earlier meeting date. The meeting was put on hold until August at Affirmation’s request. The Church asks for the same courtesy as it hires a new director of Family Services, a position crucial to this conversation.
"The issues surrounding same-gender attraction deserve careful attention, not public posturing. It appears from Affirmation’s actions today that it has opted for a public rather than a private exchange.”

Here's a great site for current church news releases and church policy of public issues such as embryonic Stem cell research, capital punishment and euthanasia and prolonging life. The churches' response to the media coverage of the recent polygamy issue in Texas, and the letter from the First Presidency to church leaders in California regarding same-sex marriage are among the current news releases. Today's top story was an article about how the Church worked together with a French non profit organization to help bring clean drinking water to families in Luputa, Democratic republic of the Congo. This is the Churches'official resource for news media, Opinion leaders and the public. Anyone can sign up for newsroom updates to be sent to your email. Senior Reps wanted and Photo Sessions

Hey everyone! I just wanted to get some help out there.....my photography business is up and running. I've had a few shoots over here in Boise and I'm coming back this Sunday finally. I'm really honing in on the Senior Portraits this first half of the year and need 2 "Reps" from each high school to help me out. Here's how the "Reps" work:

1. Each rep will receive a FREE mini session with a couple different outfit changes, their images on a CD, and Rep 411 cards. What are "Rep 411 Cards" you ask? This is like a small business card. On the front is one of the students favorite images with their myspace/facebook, cell phone, or whatever they want on there. On the back is contact information for my studio.

2. I'm going to be holding a drawing at the end of the year for an iPod Touch for all of my Senior Reps. Each referral that brings in the rep card; that rep card will be entered into the drawing.

I'm going to be advertising in the high school papers for reps, but if you know someone interested NOW, that would be great! I'll be selecting Reps by September 1, 2008. They can e-mail me a picture and a little info about themselves to:

The Regal theaters in both Poulsbo and Silverdale have free kids movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting this week. The movies start at 10 am. Sometimes they fill up so if it's a good movie you might want to get there a little early.

Floor Hockey Fun

I know that I have moved out of the ward, but I just had to share these pictures with the rest of the sisters. (Keep in mind that we just played for 2 hours, so they may not be the "ideal" photos everyone wants me to post.)

It is always so much fun at floor hockey. I encourage everyone to try it at least once. Whether you consider yourself athletic or not, try it! It truly is beginner friendly. Plus, it is a great work out and a great way to strengthen friendships and sisterhood.
